Coney Island Opening Day

Yesterday I took a trip to Coney Island.  It had been about a year since my last visit, and I assumed the amusement parks would all be closed.  I was wrong.  Yesterday was, in fact, opening day at Coney Island.  The weather was beautiful, and the crowds were plentiful.  It was as if all of New York got to finally go play outside after a long winter spent indoors.  Here is what I saw.

The Cotillion: Part 1

Rehearsals for a cotillion hosted by Sisters with Purpose

I have taken on a new documentary project with the non-profit group, Sisters with Purpose.  The group puts together a grand cotillion ball every year as a fundraiser for their youth mentoring program.  The mentoring program, called Pathways for Young Leaders, was created to ‘educate and empower every youth to become worldwide impactful leaders.’  It’s a great organization, and you can find out more about the group on their website.
